BEEHAVE CAMP AFRIKABURN 2026
A hive for co-creation, connection and participationAbout Our BeeHave Theme Camp

Discover the buzzing energy of BeeHave, a theme camp that celebrates community, creativity, and connection at AfrikaBurn 2026. Step into a vibrant hive of artistic expression, freedom, and fun. Let your spirit take flight as you join us in our hexagonal oasis, designed to inspire and delight. BeeHave isn’t just a space, it’s an experience, where everyone can contribute to the magic, leaving with a renewed sense of belonging and purpose.
- Making a warm, welcoming camp that isn’t plug-and-play.
- Sharing food, fire, art and play in a way that feels held and resourced.
- Looking after bees and each other – with real guardrails, not just vibes.
2026 is our second year at AfrikaBurn. We’re taking what worked in 2025 and making it a little cozier and a lot more intentional.

Join the Hive

What to expect
BeeHave exists to explore what it means to build a small, dense, caring hive in the dust, a camp that is generous and inviting to the wider city, but honest about the work, money and emotional labour it takes to do that well.
Our objective is to create a camp where rest, play, art and connection are possible because enough people are quietly holding the structure: cooking, cleaning, building, lighting, scheduling, tending the fire and each other. Joining the hive means opting into that shared responsibility and into a set of values around consent, contribution, realism and care.
Duties and Responsibilities
BeeHave is not plug‑and‑play, everyone who joins is part of the machinery that keeps the hive alive. That might look like taking on kitchen shifts, helping with food prep and clean‑down, tending the communal spaces, managing lights and sound, welcoming visitors, supporting performers, holding emotional or consent boundaries, or helping with admin and ops behind the scenes.
Apply
Read the expectations, fill out the application and let us know how you’d like to contribute.
Review
As we review we’ll look at your availability, skills, capacity and fit with the camp culture.
Pay Camp Fee
Fees help cover shared costs (kitchen, decor, lights, etc.). Your time covers the labour.
